About Silver Ivy Media

What is Silver Ivy Media?

Silver Ivy Media (Pty) Ltd is a South African website design and managed hosting company. We design, host, maintain and support professional websites and ecommerce websites for small businesses that want a reliable online presence without having to manage the technical side themselves.

Who is Silver Ivy Media best suited for?

Silver Ivy Media is best suited for small businesses, startups, service providers, local brands, online stores and professionals who need a practical website that looks professional, works properly and can be supported after launch.

What makes Silver Ivy Media different?

Silver Ivy Media focuses on managed websites, clear communication and ongoing support. Instead of leaving clients alone after launch, we help with hosting, updates, security, maintenance and practical website support according to the selected package.

Is Silver Ivy Media a registered South African company?

Yes. Silver Ivy Media (Pty) Ltd is a registered South African private company with registration number 2024/035143/07. The directors are Chris Sham and Ramona Sham.

How do I contact Silver Ivy Media?

You can contact Silver Ivy Media by email at [email protected], by telephone on 087 095 7821, or by WhatsApp on 083 411 0246. Meetings are by appointment only.

Packages, Pricing and Payments

What is included in the monthly website fee?

Your monthly fee includes the services listed in your selected package. Depending on the package, this may include website design, managed hosting, SSL setup, platform updates, maintenance, security monitoring, support and selected SEO foundations. Anything outside the selected package is quoted before work begins.

Are there hidden costs?

No. Silver Ivy Media will not charge you for extra work unless that work has been quoted and approved. Possible extra costs can include paid plugins, premium integrations, paid stock images, custom development, large copywriting requests, email services, payment gateway charges, domain costs or third-party provider fees.

Why do some packages have a monthly price instead of one large upfront fee?

Some packages spread the design, setup, hosting and support value across a monthly managed service. This helps small businesses get online without paying the full custom website build cost upfront, while still giving Silver Ivy Media a fair way to recover the work and setup value over time.

Is there a 12-month commitment?

Some monthly packages use a 12-month managed service model because the website design and setup value is spread across the monthly fee instead of charged fully upfront. If this applies to your package, it will be disclosed in your quote, order confirmation or package terms before work starts.

Can I upgrade my package later?

Yes. Package upgrades can be discussed if your business grows or your website needs change. Any upgrade, additional feature or custom work will be confirmed before we proceed.

How do payments work?

Payment terms depend on your quote, package or invoice. Monthly packages are billed according to the agreed billing cycle. Any once-off costs, third-party costs or add-ons must be paid according to the invoice or written agreement.

Where can I find the full pricing and package details?

You can view the main website and ecommerce package options on the Pricing page. Your final package, timeline, included items and any exclusions will be confirmed in writing before work begins.

Starting a Website Project

How do I start a website project with Silver Ivy Media?

The easiest way to start is to complete our website wizard or client intake form. This gives us the basic information we need to understand your business, website goals, contact details, content needs and preferred package.

What must I provide before the website can be built?

We usually need your business details, logo, brand colours, service information, page content, contact details, images, domain information and any legal or policy content your business needs. If you do not have everything ready, tell us what is missing and we can guide you.

What if I do not know how to answer a question on the intake form?

That is completely fine. You can write 'I am not sure' or leave a short note. The form is there to guide the project, not to make clients feel technical or overwhelmed.

Can I send photos, logos and documents for my website?

Yes. You can send relevant brand and website assets such as logos, brand guides, product photos, service photos, team photos, premises photos, brochures, menus, price lists, testimonials and social media links. Please only send files that you own or have permission to use.

Should I send passwords through the intake form, email or WhatsApp?

No. Please do not send passwords, OTPs, banking login details or sensitive access information through the intake form, normal email or WhatsApp. If secure access details are needed, Silver Ivy Media will guide you on the safest way to provide them.

Who is responsible for providing accurate business information?

The client is responsible for providing accurate business details, product information, service information, pricing, policies, images, trademarks, regulatory content and claims that appear on the website. Silver Ivy Media can help structure and present content, but the client must confirm that the information is correct and lawful.

Build Timeline and Approval Process

How long does it take to launch a website?

Most standard websites can go live within 5 to 10 working days after Silver Ivy Media receives the required content, access, payment and approvals. Larger websites, ecommerce websites, missing content or delayed feedback may extend the timeline.

What can delay a website launch?

A website launch can be delayed by missing content, late approvals, incomplete information, unclear instructions, unavailable access details, third-party provider delays, payment delays, additional requested features or changes outside the original scope.

Can I request changes during the build?

Yes. Client feedback is part of the build process. Revisions are handled according to the selected package, quote or written agreement. Changes outside the agreed scope may be quoted separately before they are done.

What happens when my website is ready for review?

Silver Ivy Media will give you a chance to review the website and send feedback. You should check names, spelling, contact details, prices, service descriptions, product details, policies, links and any information that could affect your customers.

What does website approval mean?

Website approval means the client has reviewed the website and confirmed that it may be launched or moved to the next stage. Approval does not remove Silver Ivy Media's commitment to support, but it does confirm that the client has checked the visible content and key details.

Hosting, Security and Technical Support

Is hosting included?

Managed hosting is included in selected Silver Ivy Media packages. Hosting details, limits, renewal terms and included support depend on the selected package or written agreement.

Is SSL included?

SSL setup is included in managed website packages where applicable. SSL helps protect information sent between the website and visitors, but it does not replace proper website security, safe passwords or responsible data handling.

Do you handle website updates and maintenance?

Yes. Managed packages may include platform updates, maintenance, monitoring and basic care according to the selected plan. Requests outside the selected plan may be quoted separately.

Do you handle website security?

Yes. Managed hosting packages include reasonable security measures such as SSL setup, platform updates, maintenance and security monitoring according to the selected plan. No provider can guarantee that a website will never experience downtime, hacking attempts or third-party failures.

Can you guarantee 100% uptime?

No website provider can honestly guarantee perfect uptime forever. Silver Ivy Media uses reasonable hosting, maintenance and monitoring practices, but downtime can still happen because of third-party providers, internet failures, cyber attacks, platform issues, maintenance or events outside our control.

Do you provide email addresses with the website?

Email options depend on the selected package, domain setup and provider requirements. If business email setup is needed, Silver Ivy Media can discuss the available options and any related costs before setup.

How does support work after launch?

Support is provided through the agreed contact channels during working hours. We aim to respond within one business day. Urgent hosting or security issues are prioritised, but requests outside the selected plan may be quoted.

What counts as an urgent support issue?

Urgent issues usually include website downtime, major security concerns, broken contact forms, serious payment checkout issues or errors that prevent customers from using important website functions. Cosmetic updates, new content and change requests are handled as normal support or quoted work.

Content, SEO and AI Search Visibility

Will my website be mobile-friendly?

Yes. Silver Ivy Media builds responsive websites designed to work on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

Will my website be search-engine friendly?

Yes. We build websites with SEO foundations such as clear structure, mobile-friendly layouts, page titles, descriptions, internal headings and search-friendly content where included in the package.

Will my website rank on Google?

We do not guarantee Google rankings, traffic, leads or sales. Search results depend on many factors outside our control, including competition, content quality, location, domain history, reviews, technical performance, search algorithm changes and ongoing marketing activity.

Do you optimise for Google AI Overviews and AI search tools?

Where content work is included, we structure website copy with clear headings, direct answers, helpful explanations, entity signals and FAQ-style content to support search engines, AI Overviews and LLM-friendly extraction. No supplier can guarantee when or whether AI systems will show a specific website.

Can Silver Ivy Media write my website content?

Yes, content writing or copywriting can be included in some packages or quoted separately. If the client supplies content, the client remains responsible for checking that it is accurate, lawful and suitable for the business.

Can you use stock images if I do not have photos?

Yes. Stock images can be used where appropriate, but paid stock images, premium image licences or special image requests may create extra costs. We recommend using real business photos where possible because they build trust and make the website more authentic.

Can you copy another website design I like?

No. Silver Ivy Media can use examples for direction and inspiration, but we do not copy another business's website, brand, text, images or protected design. Your website should be original and suitable for your own business.

Ecommerce and Online Stores

Can Silver Ivy Media build an online store?

Yes. Silver Ivy Media can build ecommerce websites and online stores according to the selected ecommerce package and agreed features.

Who is responsible for ecommerce orders and refunds?

The ecommerce business is responsible for its products, pricing, stock, delivery, refunds, warranties, product descriptions, compliance and customer service. Silver Ivy Media sets up the website or store according to the agreed package, but does not become the seller of the client's products or services.

Can you set up payment gateways?

Payment gateway setup can be included or quoted depending on the package and provider. The client is responsible for opening, verifying and maintaining any payment gateway account required for receiving payments.

Who writes the store's delivery, refund and warranty policies?

The client is responsible for their own store policies because they know their products, suppliers, delivery method, warranty obligations and customer service rules. Silver Ivy Media can help place and format those policies on the website, but we do not provide legal advice.

Can you upload my products?

Product upload can be included in selected ecommerce packages or quoted separately. The client must provide accurate product names, descriptions, prices, categories, images, stock information and any required legal or safety information.

Ownership, Cancellation and Refunds

Do I own my website?

You own your brand, logo, text, images and business content that you supply or pay to have created for you. Silver Ivy Media may retain ownership or licence rights in its templates, systems, setup methods, code snippets, design frameworks, hosting environment and unpaid work unless the quote, package or Terms say otherwise.

Can I move my website to another host?

Yes, migration can be discussed. After the initial minimum service period and once your account is paid up, Silver Ivy Media can assist with reasonable website file release or migration support where the build and licences allow it. Third-party licences, proprietary tools and hosting-specific features may not transfer.

Can I cancel my package?

Yes. You can cancel according to the Terms, Refund and Cancellation Policy and any applicable consumer law. Cancellation must be sent in writing or another recorded form so both sides have a clear record.

What happens if I cancel before 12 months?

You may cancel according to the Terms and applicable law. If you want to move the website files or release the build before the initial design and setup value has been recovered, a disclosed reasonable early release or design subsidy amount may apply, together with any unpaid fees and third-party costs.

Do you refund work already done?

Silver Ivy Media does not automatically refund completed custom work, approved work, time already spent, work already performed, hosting already used, third-party costs already incurred, or delays caused by missing client information. This does not remove any rights a client may have under South African law.

Why do you need a Refund and Cancellation Policy if you do custom work?

The policy protects both sides by explaining what happens before money changes hands. It confirms that clients are treated fairly, while also making it clear that custom design, development, setup, hosting and third-party costs cannot simply be treated like an unused off-the-shelf product.

Where can I read the full cancellation and refund terms?

The full cancellation and refund rules are available in the Refund and Cancellation Policy and in the Terms and Conditions. These documents explain cancellations, early termination, refunds, third-party costs, hosting cancellation and website release requests.

Complaints and Dispute Resolution

What should I do if something goes wrong?

If something goes wrong, please send the issue in writing with enough detail for Silver Ivy Media to investigate. Include your business name, website name, invoice number if available, screenshots if relevant and a clear explanation of the problem.

How are complaints handled?

Silver Ivy Media reviews complaints internally first, responds within a reasonable time and aims to resolve issues fairly and professionally. We believe in clear communication, written records and practical solutions rather than making complaints difficult.

Can a client escalate a dispute?

Yes. If a matter cannot be resolved internally, applicable consumer, contractual or legal escalation routes may be available. The correct route depends on the nature of the dispute and the agreement in place.

Does Silver Ivy Media respect consumer rights?

Yes. Silver Ivy Media aims to operate ethically, transparently and in line with applicable South African consumer and information laws. Our Terms, policies and processes are written to protect both the client and Silver Ivy Media by making responsibilities clear.

Still not sure where to start?

Send us a message. We will help you choose the right path without making the process complicated.
