Understand monthly repayments before you sign a business loan
A loan decision should be based on more than the advertised monthly payment. Interest, financed fees, recurring charges and the repayment period all affect the eventual amount paid. This planner uses a standard reducing-balance amortisation model to estimate regular repayments and generate a payment schedule. Actual bank quotations may include different interest conventions, insurance, balloon payments, variable rates, taxes or early settlement provisions.
Before you start
Borrowing cost is determined by more than the advertised interest rate. Consider fees, term, compounding, rate changes and the impact on monthly cash flow. Compare the total amount repaid, not just the instalment.

How to use this tool
- Enter the amount borrowed, annual nominal rate and term in months.
- Add any once-off fee you pay upfront and recurring service fees; these will be shown separately from interest.
- Compare monthly cash pressure and lifetime cost, then export the amortisation schedule to CSV.
A real-world example
A R100,000 loan at 12% nominal annual interest over 24 months has a payment of roughly R4,707.35 before additional fees, using monthly reducing-balance interest.
This is not a formal credit affordability decision or a disclosed regulatory annual percentage rate. Request the lender’s complete quotation.
Check this before you finish
- Confirm whether the interest rate is fixed or variable.
- Include initiation and monthly service fees where applicable.
- Compare repayment schedules against a conservative forecast.
What to avoid
The calculator does not determine approval, affordability requirements or the lender’s final contract terms.
