Know when to reorder before a product sells out
Running out of stock costs sales, while over-ordering ties up cash. A simple reorder point uses average units sold per day, supplier lead time and a safety-stock allowance. This stock planner supports multiple products, calculates reorder thresholds and highlights products that should be ordered now. It is a planning worksheet, not a live warehouse system and it does not connect to WooCommerce or suppliers.
Before you start
Reorder points should cover expected demand during supplier lead time plus an allowance for variation. Slow-moving stock ties up cash, while too little inventory loses sales. Revisit each assumption as demand patterns change.

How to use this tool
- Add each product with its stock on hand and approximate average daily usage.
- Estimate realistic supplier lead time and a safety-stock buffer for demand variability.
- Review reorder flags and suggested order quantities, then export a CSV for your stock records.
A real-world example
If a product sells five units per day, supplier lead time is seven days and you hold ten units of safety stock, the reorder point is 45 units.
For seasonal, unpredictable or perishable products, a fixed daily average can be misleading. Review your actual demand regularly.
Check this before you finish
- Record accurate stock on hand and committed orders.
- Measure real lead time for every supplier.
- Account for minimum order quantities and seasonal demand.
What to avoid
A reorder reminder is not a live warehouse system and cannot know unrecorded sales.
